OVERHEAD PROJECTOR (LI8009)
AN INVALUABLE AID TO TEACHING & PRESENTATION. Provides a crisp and bright image on the screen in daylight in a room, of any drawing,sketch or writing on a transparent cellophane sheet,or with ready made transparencies. The projector is built around a 250x250 mm aperture Fresnel lens,mounted on a sturdy sheet metal body.The tilting projection head is carried on a square section column and is provided with rack and pinion arrangement for focussing. POTOMETER SIMPLE (LI8027)
For investigating transpiration and water absorption by cut shoots. The apparatus comprises a glass cylinder stoppered at both ends, through the lower end of which is inserted a length of capillary tubing graduated in millimeters, the other end having a glass tube to which the cut shoot is attached by rubber tubing. A 2ml. syringe is provided for adjusting the air bubble position during setting up. Overall length approx. 390mm. Capillary bore 1mm.

POTOMETER, GANONG'S (LI8028)
For demonstration of transpiration rates and rates of water absorption by a cut shoot under various external conditions. A plant shoot is sealed into a stopper which fits the end tube, and the whole apparatus is filled with water, the open end of the capillary tube, which is graduated in millimeter, dipping into a beaker of water. The position of the air bubble may easily be adjusted by opening the glass stopcock to admit water from the central reservior. The whole apparatus is mounted on a varnished wooden base by spring clips. J TUBE, SCREW FITTING (LI8034)
Glass J tube formed from 1mm bore thick walled capillary tube, with a brass screw and collar at the end of the longer limb. Used for sampling small quantities of gas held over water (e.g. in photosynthesis or respiration experiments). A bubble of gas is introduced into the short limb. This is then lowered into reagent solution and the bubble moved back and forth so that reagent diffuses through the end water seal. The change in length of the bubble indicates the amount of gas taken up by the reagent. Use potassium, hydroxide for C02 or alkaline pyrogallol for 02. Dimensions long limb 250mm, short limb 100mm.

SIMPLE RESPIROMETER (LI8037)
A complete unit for comprising rates of absorption or evolution of gases by small organisms, during respiration. The apparatus consists of two stoppered boiling tubes connected by three way taps to either limb of a graduated manometer. One tube holds the organisms and has a syringe for altering the level of liquid in the manometer during setting up. The other tube acts as a control thermo-barometer. CO2 given off by the respiring organism is absorbed by potassium hydroxide in the experimental chamber resulting in a change in the level of liquid in the manometer tube. Complete with wire baskets for supporting organisms.
