Comprises quite a variety of materials in the form of rectangular blocks. This kit is used to familiarizes the students with appearance, feel, Texture, hardness and density of a range of common substances.

A quarter class Kit (Sufficient for eight students): consists of two each of the seventeen blocks, as described below:

Bucket and Cylinder

For demonstrating Archimedes principle, there is a brass bucket and a brass cylinder. The bucket has a suspension loop at the top and a hook at the bottom. The cylinder has suspension hook at one end. Size of cylinder 50 x 16 mm diameter. Overall length of including hook as suspension loop 160 mm (Approx.)

Elastic Material Kit

Elastic Material Kit   (P-1660)

This kit is used to understand the concept of elasticity by students. Students can perform experiments on compression, extension, torsion and elastic limits. The kit comprises 2 wide steel springs of 4½ turns 50 mm dia, 25, expandable steel springs with ends bent to form hooks, foam blocks 130 x 50 x 50 mm, one 50 gms reel of 32.S.W.G. copper wire, two 50 gms reels of 26 SWG bare copper wire, one meter length of latex rubber tubing, 4 elastic cords with eyelets and 4 soft erasures for twisting.

Young's Modulus Apparatus, Searles Pattern   (P-1695)

It comprises two metal frames connected by a link mechanism carrying a spirit level. The wire under test is held in self centering steel chucks capable of holding wires of 1.2 mm diameter (18 SWG). A Micrometer head reading to 0.01 mm is provided for re-adjusting the sprit level.

Supplied complete with ceiling bracket having itself a pair of chucks similar to those on the frame, counter-poise weight. and set of suitable wires, without slotted masses.

For determining Young's modulus for a beam of metal when supported at its extremities. Comprising a metal chrome plated bar 1 meter long, resting on the knife edges of 2 heavy table clamps, hanger with knife edge support to rest on the beam with micrometer or spherometer attachment and with electric contacts, but without weights.

For experiment on rigidity. Two solid and two hollow cylinders each 10cm long accurately fitting the bore of a hollow brass tube 40cm long are provided. The tube is also fitted with wire chuck and mirror, graduated scales and Vernier on sliding weights. Complete with ceiling attachment.
