Wheatstone Bridge, Four Gap

Wheatstone Bridge, Four Gap   (P-8005)

This substantial four gaps bridge has, plated brass strips mounted on a wood base. Plated brass terminals with 4mm sockets are provided to reduce unwanted resistance to a minimum and the gaps are closed by removable plated brass strips which are held in position by the terminals. The 0.56mm constantan wire is stretched along the top of a metre scale subdivided into millimeters and figured every centimeter. The ends of the wire are securely clamped to the terminating strips to reduce end errors to a negligible level. Supplied with jockey. SIZE: 1.13m x 81mm x 50mm approx.

Comprises a 0.56mm constantan wire stretched along a meter scale mounted on wooden base, clamped to stout, plated brass end plates. The terminating strips are provided with 4mm socket terminals, supplied with jockey.

They are wound with heavily oxidized resistance wire upon a porcelain tube. The tube is carried upon robust bakelite or aluminium posts and the heavy duty sliding contact is of the phosphor bronze, nickle plated for corrosion resistance, 4mm socket terminals are fitted, allowing for rheostat or potentiometer connection.

Fitted in polished wooden box with bakelite top panel. Values are figured in front of respective sockets made of split brass contact blocks hold precision cut. Plug keys are made of brass and interchangeable. Plug keys are fitted in moulded bakelite top. The resistances are made of constantan wire, accuracy ± 0.1%.

Consist of 12 capacitors ranging from 100 pF to 0.47 microfarad (standard capacitors) selectable by rotary switch. Fitted inside a wooden box, well polished, and outside connection by a pair of 4mm sockets. Capacitance values are 100pf, 200 pF, 470 pF, 1, 2.2, 4.7, 10, 22 and 47nf and 0.1, 0.22, 0.47 Microfarads, Accuracy ± 3%, 250V DC.
